Lenora and Chrysanthemum

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lenora. Lenora had a very special doll named Chrysanthemum. Chrysanthemum was not just any doll; she was Lenora’s best friend. One day, Lenora decided to bring Chrysanthemum to school for show and tell.

When it was Lenora’s turn, she stood up in front of the class and said, “This is my doll, Chrysanthemum.”

The students looked puzzled. “Chrysa-what?” one of them asked.

Lenora tried to explain, “Chrysanthemum, like the flower. She’s very special to me.”

But the name was new and hard for the students. They whispered and wondered why Lenora would choose such a difficult name for her doll.

Weeks later, the school held a spelling bee. Lenora joined and spelled word after word correctly. The final word was… “Chrysanthemum.”

Lenora smiled, took a deep breath, and spelled it out, “C-H-R-Y-S-A-N-T-H-E-M-U-M.”

The room erupted in cheers. Lenora had won the spelling bee!

From that day on, everyone in school remembered the name Chrysanthemum. They loved it so much that many wanted to name their own dolls Chrysanthemum.

And Lenora? She was just happy that everyone now knew and loved her doll’s special name.
